Why book
a session?
Acupuncture is a therapeutic practice rooted in traditional Chinese medicine, used for over 2,000 years. It is based on the principle that vital energy, called Qi, flows through the human body along meridians. When this flow becomes unbalanced, physical or psychological issues may arise. Acupuncture aims to restore this balance by inserting fine needles at specific points on the body.oints on the body.
Relieve stress and anxiety
Stress and anxiety are common realities that can deeply affect our quality of life, sleep, focus, and even physical health. Acupuncture offers a gentle and natural approach to help restore the body’s energetic balance by targeting points connected to the nervous system and emotional regulation. By stimulating these points, acupuncture promotes the release of endorphins and other neurotransmitters that calm the mind and relax the body.
What our clients are saying
About me
A passionate acupuncturist
My name is Nathalie, and my profession was born from a dual passion: a love for nature and a love for healing. Born in Quebec, with Chilean roots and a traveler’s heart, I’ve always been fascinated by the deep connections between the body, the mind, and nature.
From an early age, my fascination with living things led me to study marine biology. That initial immersion in the delicate balance of ecosystems shaped the way I see the world. Life then carried me toward new horizons: for more than ten years, I guided travelers through the Atacama Desert in search of silence, beauty, and wonder.
It was there, among the elements, that my inner journey began to take shape. Over the years, I explored various wellness practices—first for myself, then to better support others: Ayurvedic massage, yoga, meditation, and an initial immersion into traditional Chinese medicine. These experiences deeply transformed me and broadened my understanding of health.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is acupuncture ?
Acupuncture is a branch of traditional Chinese medicine. It aims to support the balance of the body and mind, relieve pain, and promote overall health and well-being. It’s a gentle and personalized approach that considers the person as a whole—their story, their needs, and their current state.
The treatment involves stimulating specific points on the surface of the body, mainly using very fine, single-use sterile needles. Depending on your needs, I also use other techniques such as cupping, moxa (heat therapy), acupressure, or electrostimulation.
Each session is tailored to you, based on a thorough energetic assessment and the reason for your visit.
Does acupuncture hurt ?
The needles used are very fine, and insertion is generally painless. You might feel a slight tingling or warmth, but treatments are usually very relaxing.
Are you a member of the Ordre des Acupuncteurs du Québec (OAQ) ?
Yes, I am a member in good standing of the OAQ, ensuring that I adhere to established professional and ethical standards to provide safe, high-quality care.
What types of issues can acupuncture help with ?
Acupuncture can support a wide range of imbalances—whether physical, emotional, or energetic. Here are some common reasons for consultation that I see at my acupuncture clinics in the Southwest and on the Plateau Mont-Royal :
- Stress, anxiety, fatigue, sleep disorders
- Chronic or acute pain: back, shoulders, neck, knees, migraines, sciatica, sports injuries
- Digestive issues: bloating, reflux, constipation, irritable bowel syndrome
- Hormonal or menstrual issues: PMS, irregular cycles, pain, pregnancy support, fertility
- Menopause, hot flashes, urinary issues
- Allergies, asthma, sinusitis, ear infections
- Skin conditions: eczema, hives, acne
- Support related to addictions (smoking, eating habits, etc.)
Acupuncture can be used on its own or as a complement to other treatments. To consult the evidence-based data on conditions successfully treated with acupuncture, visit https://www.evidencebasedacupuncture.org/acupuncture-scientific-evidence/
How many sessions are needed ?
It all depends on the reason for your visit, your overall health, and how your body responds. Here's a general idea :
- For an acute issue : often between 3 and 5 sessions
- For a chronic condition : between 5 and 10 sessions, sometimes more if the imbalance has been present for a long time.
Acupuncture works through a cumulative effect, so it is often beneficial to start with 3 closely spaced sessions (in the first 2–3 weeks). In the case of hormonal or fertility issues, follow-up over several menstrual cycles can be necessary. Each treatment plan is adjusted along the way, based on your progress, how you feel, and how you respond to the treatments.
How does acupuncture work ?
Even though its mechanisms may seem complex, it can be simply said that acupuncture helps the body restore its natural balance. It acts on the nervous system, reduces tension, decreases inflammation, and stimulates circulation. It also promotes the release of endorphins and other beneficial hormones, which can lead to a deep sense of relaxation and improve the body’s ability to self-regulate.
How should I prepare for my first appointment ?
For your first visit to the clinic :
- Try to arrive 10–15 minutes early to fill out your health form.
- Bring a list of your medications and any relevant medical documents (e.g., MRI, blood test results).
- Avoid coming on an empty stomach.
- Wear comfortable clothing. If possible, bring shorts or loose-fitting pants.
The first session lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes. It includes a discussion about your health, an energy assessment, and an initial treatment. Follow-up sessions generally last 50 to 60 minutes.
Is acupuncture safe during pregnancy ?
Are acupuncture treatments covered by insurance ?
Are acupuncture treatments taxable ?
Acupuncture treatments are considered medical services and are not subject to GST/QST in Quebec.
Can I benefit from facial acupuncture if I have never tried acupuncture?
